Doctors at the VA Recommend me for a dog and I applied, they called my Doctors, interviewed them, ran a security check on me, interviewed me over the phone and then a lady from the Guide Dog Org. flew up to visit me and check out my house to see if it would be suitable for the Dog, then she presented it to the review board and a few weeks later they called me to let me know I was approved, then the waiting for months until a proper dog match was trained and ready.

They have a dog for me and I need to attend classes to teach me how to use the dog.  it took  from 1 to 2 years from the time I applied.

The Trained Veterans Service Dog is Provided by the Guide Dog Organization, they operate on donations and are not compensated by the VA.  The VA does NOT pay for Travel to get to the Guide Dog.

I’m  trying to raise enough money to cover the travel expense from Maine to Florida and Back.

Donations can be made by PayPal Friends & Family to my account TheBoat@Maine.rr.com
